Prerequisites:

home

Objectives:

The course has been designed for visual web designers, content managers and web application developers

This popular five-day course is designed to help those with no previous programming or database skills to build powerful dynamic web applications. Designed for existing Dreamweaver users, this course will give you the skills to create powerful database-driven web solutions quickly and easily

The course can be adapted to your exact requirements but the following outline is a good guide to how the course can be structured:

Day one:
You will build a Microsoft Access database (or utilise your existing database)

Day two:
You will develop SQL skills, allowing you to query databases for information. You will learn how to hand code SQL statements giving you the ability to query your Access database from within Macromedia Dreamweaver

Day three:
An introduction to ASP (Active Server Pages). ASP is a Microsoft technology used to create dynamic web pages and sophisticated web applications. You will cover the concepts behind ASP, understanding ASP Objects and how to use them to create intuitive websites

Days four and five:
Using Macromedia Dreamweaver for dynamic content. You will cover how to link Dreamweaver-built sites to the most commonly used professional databases. This allows site content to to be easily updated ‘on the fly’ and allows you to build powerful database-driven sites for dynamic data publishing and e-commerce solutions

Creating data driven websites and understanding the technologies used to develop them can seem a large and complex subject, so if you would like to discuss your requirements with us in advance, we would be very happy to put together a detailed course structure with you prior to the course.
