Castalia specialises in providing customised training and related services. This customisation involves a true understanding of client requirements, and delivery of training that relates directly to the client's business. We train small groups of delegates, from a single client. This ensures that training can be tailored specifically to the experience and needs of delegates, and to the overall objectives of the clientWe also provide popular public courses - Adobe, Macromedia and Quark authorised - for web and print designers and developersWe deliver computer training at one of 5 training centres, and at client sites. We can also provide related services such as analysing training needs, development of training programmes to meet specific business requirements, development of pre and post course questionnaires, designing client specific course notes - incorporating policies and procedures along with customised screen dumps and relevant examplesIn addition, we provide other computer services such as project management and database design. Margaret Fielding Overview

After gaining an English degree, Margaret started work for a multinational computer manufacturer as a programmer. In the IT industry, she worked as an analyst, project manager and trainer; in sales and as a marketing manager. This diverse experience involving business-to-business relationships means that she has acquired a good understanding of varied client environments and business needs. Margaret personally provides consultancy and training in the effective use of the Internet and Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications - to advanced level. In addition, she designs, implements and trains in Multiactive's Maximizer application, a client relationship management (CRM) database productCastalia also has access to over 400 independent consultants who provide training in virtually all computer applications. These consultants include specialists in a wide range of IT related services including technical consultancy, soft skills training and project management.

Training

  • Received formal training in learning styles, teaching methods, and associated topics e.g. questionnaire design and learning gain measurement
  • Had extensive experience in development of training programmes and training both in house staff and clients at all levels
  • Designed training programmes for users of new software, trained users, developed training programmes for software developers, was chief trainer for Europe in an in-house programming language

Analysis/Programming

  • Developed bespoke software and software packages, mainly for the Retail, Point of Sale market
  • Produced new standards for software developments and testing controls

Sales

  • As Account Manager in the financial sector, sold full range of hardware and software products
  • Sold the company's largest mainframe configuration in Europe to a UK Building Society

Project Management

  • Managed large bespoke software developments, and as Senior Project Manager, set up, employed and managed a new group of project managers
  • Designed and implemented new standards for project management, which were later adopted by the whole company

Line Management

  • Managed a group of over 20 software developers and project managers, producing, maintaining and managing bespoke program developments in the Retail, Government and Financial sectors
  • Was responsible for the group's P&L

She provides computer consultancy and training services, and has worked for her own direct clients, and on behalf of various software suppliers, training and personnel companiesMargaret has provided training in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Schedule +, Exchange, Outlook, PowerPoint, various e-mail products, the Internet and Maximizer - to a range of companiesShe has provided consultancy and training services to staff at all levels, and on many types of projects, from one day's consultancy to training on large IT rolloutsOther work has included development and project management of Maximizer projects, development of bespoke courseware, questionnaires to assess computer training requirements of new staff, on-site assistance/trouble shooting, production of company IT standards and procedures, and production of bespoke Word and Excel templates
